2. Online - Exchange for networking in Austria

• The Motherhood and Science Network Austria and the UniKid-UniCare Austria Network invited all those interested to the 2nd Austria-wide ONLINE meeting on Monday, 16th of June, 9:00–11:00 a.m. The focus was on the topic of the compatibility of parenting and career, with the aim of discussing and documenting various needs, measures and demands, and ultimately making them visible to those responsible at various levels. Preparatory work had already taken place in some local groups of the Motherhood and Science Network (Graz, Innsbruck, Linz, Vienna).
• Addition: In June 2025, the second nationwide meeting of the Network Motherhood and Science took place in Austria. Together with the UniKid–UniCare Austria network, we examined and discussed compatibility measures—along with the lack of such measures—at various universities. Based on the collected experiences and best-practice examples, we identified the need for reform of existing structures and developed recommendations that highlight the concrete need for action on the part of the Federal Ministry for Women, Science and Research as well as the rectorates. In November 2025, we sent our recommendations in letters to the BMFWF and, via UNIKO, to the rectorates of Austria’s public universities. The letters were written in German only.
